Ice Spice offered her fans a preview of her next single “Gimmie a Light” on Wednesday (May 8) with a highly smoky video.
In the 15-second clip, Spice is riding in the back of a hot pink Range Rover with a “Y2K” licence plate in honour of her upcoming debut studio album, while heavy clouds of marijuana smoke roll out the side windows.
The video begins with a sample of Sean Paul’s Billboard Hot 100 No. 7 hit “Gimme the Light” from his 2002 sophomore album Dutty Rock, before she raps (with a joint in her hand, of course), “Hotbox in the V like gimme a light
“Gimmie a Light” is scheduled to be published on Friday afternoon, May 10th through 10K Productions & Capitol Records, just four weeks after Spice’s last solo song, “Reflect U The S— (Fart),” debuted at No. 37 on the Hot 100 and became her highest-charting solo single to date.

She debuted the song at the Coachella festival last month. She plans to release her first full-length album, Y2K, later this year, following her debut EP, Like..? which she published in January 2023. The project (which received a deluxe version in July) peaked at No. 15 on the Billboard 200.
She also just appeared on a remix of Cash Cobain and Bay Swang’s viral song of the summer contender “Fisherrr,” which premiered at No. 11 on the Bubbling Under Hot 100 this week (May 11).
